Our Project
Communal Living
A Vision for Affordable, Sustainable, and Inclusive Community for Families with Children and Young Adults with Disabilities
Our immediate goal of this project is to obtain 10-15 hectors of Public Land Lease for $1 per year to Enable Communal Living Development

The project is for a transformative, community-led project addressing the critical housing, mental health, and social support needs of Australian families caring for children and young adults with disabilities. Parenting Beyond Limits, a not-for-profit organisation formed by over 100 families, seeks the local council’s partnership to lease 10 to 20 hectares of public land at $1 per year to establish an integrated communal living precinct.
The site will feature:
- 50–100 purpose-built family dwellings
- Disability group homes with 24/7 care for young adults and adults with high support needs
- A retirement village for aging carers and parents
- Allied health, therapy, and wellness services
- Community gardens, inclusive recreation, and eco-conscious infrastructure
This model represents a rare opportunity to make systemic, multi-generational change—delivering enduring social, economic, cultural, environmental, and mental health outcomes.
